September Refuge Refresh - Fall Is Here!
(You can access the actual email with formatting and images HERE).
Hi Refuge friends,
You can feel it in the air—it’s fall! The mornings are getting cooler, the leaves are starting to turn—and the Broncos… well, let’s not focus on that right now. Thankfully, fall still brings plenty to enjoy, from football weekends to crisp evenings and maybe you’re one of those celebrating the arrival of Pumpkin Spice Lattes.
If part of your fall season includes thinking about Medicare, retirement plans or life insurance, I’m only a phone call or email away—and happy to help make it a little easier. Have a great week!

SMILE
A guy sees a talking parrot up for sale at auction and decides to place a bid. The more he’s outbid, the more impressed the guy becomes. So he keeps bidding higher and higher until he wins. Afterward, he approaches the auctioneer and says, “I sank a lot of money into this bird. You’re sure he can really talk right?” “Sure,” the auctioneer says. “Who do you think kept outbidding you?” 😂

What’s the Difference?
401k: An employer-sponsored retirement plan. You can only contribute if your workplace offers it and many employers sweeten the deal with matching contributions. It often includes more fees than an IRA.

IRA: An Individual Retirement Account is one you open on your own, giving you more control and investment options, but with lower annual contribution limits. It often includes less fees and more flexibility than a 401k.

Did You Know?
Medicare
Around 67 million Americans are enrolled in Medicare, but many say the system still feels confusing. In a recent survey, 65% of people said they wouldn’t know which parts of Medicare to enroll in. That means a majority of folks are making big healthcare decisions without full clarity. If you’re in that boat, I’m here to help guide and educate!

Fun Money Fact
The world’s first “paper money” began to show up in China during the Tang Dynasty (around 800-900 AD). Traders called it flying cash because it could “travel” quickly and easily—kind of like the ancient version of swiping a debit card.
